The Commission’s role is to repair and maintain the streets, pavements and gardens of the Crown Estate around Regent’s Park and to maintain the Waterloo gardens at Carlton House Terrace. It also provides street cleaning, security patrolling and parking regulation services in its area of operation. The Commission is a rating body drawing its income from rates levied on Crown Estate leaseholders within its areas of responsibility. It operates and is financially independent of the Crown Estate, the Royal Parks Agency and the local authorities.
