York Bridge

York Bridge is a Grade 2 listed masonry arch road bridge crossing the Regent’s Park boating lake. We believe it is one of The Royal Parks’ oldest assets, with the first part of the bridge dating back to around 1790.

Monitoring over the last few years has shown that the bridge is deteriorating due to heavy vehicle use. The images to the right show how this damage has progressed from 2019 to 2022.

To repair the bridge, we need to undertake construction work which will involve closing the bridge to all vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians from 10 February 2023 until mid-end July 2023. During this time, vehicles will only be able to enter and exit the Inner Circle via Chester Road. Cyclists and pedestrians will also need to use alternative routes. If you have any questions, please contact me on ebrett@royalparks.org.uk.

Many thanks.
