Cumberland Terrace Garden drainage issues

There has been an ongoing issue with flooding in the shared private garden at the front of the Terrace. I have recently had a surveyor and specialist contractor looking at the drainage on the terrace. We have discovered through CCTV of the drains from the road gulley’s that there are some blockages restricting the lines, potentially causing the flooding to occur.

I have spoken with Thames Water as these are their assets and I have arranged for them to come to the terrace before end of the day on Thursday 19 August 2021, to undertake further investigation.

Apologies for the late notification as this is a 48hr response from Thames Water. I would like to take this opportunity to assure all residents that there will be minimum disruption and the garden/Terrace which will still be available for regular use.

Please do not hesitate to contact if you have any questions.

York Terrace West – Railing Refurbishment

Further to the notification emails sent in June 2021 to all York Terrace West residents regarding the proposed railing works, I can confirm that works to the railings will commence on Monday 16 August 2021. Some initial landscape works have commenced, with the removal of a small section of privet hedge. Full screening has been put in place to maintain privacy and will remain until the new planting has established post railing refurbishment works.

I would like to take this opportunity to assure all residents that during the period of works we will minimise disruption as much as possible and the garden will be available for regular use throughout this period. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions or concerns regarding these works.

Turfing in Chester Terrace

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new Head of Landscape for the CEPC.

During a Gardens Committee tour last year, it was suggested by the Head Gardener that a redundant rose bed in the gardens should be returned to a lawn area. Please see image attached. This would provide more useable green space in the garden for all residents to enjoy. We are planning to carry out these works as part of the autumn lawns programme.

If anyone has any questions or thoughts regarding these works, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Cumberland Place Garden – Tree Felling Works

We wish to advise you that on Wednesday 11th August 2021 tree work to the large Laburnum tree located in the garden by the balustrade the south side. This work has been approved by Camden Council Tree Officers. The tree is being felled as it has a split fork and is in major decline.

All appropriate Risk Assessments and Method Statements have been approved by the CEPC along with further COVID 19 Site Specific Control Measures. Whilst this work is being undertaken our tree surgeons will manage the safety of this work in the garden. If required please kindly follow any requests made by them.

We apologise for the inconvenience these works may cause to residents. Should you require any further information or assistance then please do not hesitate in contacting the CEPC.

Kent Terrace – Gully Cleaning

As you are aware, we are currently carrying out the gully cleaning across the estate. We are writing to inform you that in order to complete the gully cleaning at Kent Terrace, we would be grateful if all residents could park on the garden side of the terrace and not over a drain on Tuesday 3 August 2021.

If you are unable to park in Kent Terrace because of this, we have arranged temporary parking at Sussex Place North & South which will be available for you to use from 8am to 5pm on the above date.

We hope that the above is clear however, if you have any queries, please contact the CEPC Surveyor on 07940 470998.
