Urban foxes in the garden

There is currently a family of foxes in the gardens that have become quite courageous.

We are following Westminster City Council guidance (www.westminster.gov.uk/foxes) and are currently using a safe product to repel these foxes, which takes a few applications. It gives the false impression that another fox has claimed the territory and encourages them to leave the location. This product is not harmful to dogs.

As the foxes have been particularly active in the Children’s Play Area in Park Square it has been temporarily closed.

Please be vigilant of your children whilst playing in the gardens and do not entice or encourage the foxes by feeding them. Please also ensure all rubbish and food matter is placed in the garden bins provided.

The Outer Circle – 20 mph speed limit

As you will be aware, the speed limit of The Outer Circle has recently been reduced to 20mph and offences of excessive speed are being enforced by the Metropolitan Police.

The changes can be viewed here.

This speed limit relates to motor vehicles and is covered by Section 124 of The Highway Code. It does not relate to pedal cyclists.

This does not mean that pedal cyclists cannot be prosecuted. Sections 28/29 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 gives Police the power to prosecute cyclists for Dangerous and Careless cycling.

The CEPC will liaise with the Police to establish the stance they are taking on this and to air the concerns of residents.

Should any resident wish to discuss this further, please call or email me our Traffic & Security Manager, Martyn Floodgate.

Please drive carefully.

Ground Investigation Work – Chester Terrace Garden

Following the initial soil investigations that took place earlier this year, we have arranged for further such works to take place on Friday 2 October 2020 in the Chester Terrace Garden.

The work proposed involves the excavation of a series of pits in the garden. While these works are being undertaken, residents of Chester Terrace may experience some noise disturbance during the day. Additionally, the garden will be closed for safety reasons on Friday 2 October 2020.

Works of this nature are necessary to maintain the standards of land managed by the CEPC and to ensure the safety of residents of The Regent’s Park Estate. As always, the CEPC endeavours to minimise the disturbance caused by such work and apologies for any inconvenience.

If you have any queries about the planned work, please do not hesitate to contact the CEPC.
